Pagan Altar - Split with JEX THOTH

Pagan Altar - Split with JEX THOTH

This is about a split 7’’ release that features only two songs. Of course many of you, you will wonder why I decided to review this one, the reasons for me are many, but the main reason is that this is the new release from the lengedary Pagan Altar from the mighty Great Britain. Well, is not such a recent release but first things first….
\r\nSo this 7’’ from I hate records, features Pagan Altar’s second ever and yet officialy unreleased track, they have ever recorded back in the late 70’s when the band have been founded. The track is entitled “Walking In The Dark” and is a pure NWOBHM track in the vein of Pagan Altar, doomish sound and the cult voice of  Terry Jones… no more need to be said.
\r\nThe other band of this split 7’’ is the completely unkown to me, Jex Toth ,but this band with their track “Stone Evil” really blew my mind away! The music of this U.S band is a dark mixture of Black Widow, Jacula with female vocals, that sounds really close to Coven (U.S) vocals. If this is not enough , just take a slice of Electric Wizard’s sound in your face and as a desert you may have a delirious Wah –Wah manifest.
\r\nSo… this 7’’ is a must, especially if you are a heavy doom devoted fan you are about to have even sex with it….
