Well… these mad Swedes Thrashers FKU are back with their 3rd full length release through metal on metal records. For those that are unaware of FKU, I d like to quote that is all about an old school thrash metal group in the vain of Exodus, onslaught etc and they are fans of horror movies and horror in general with a great sense of humor on their lyrics.

Metal on Metal Records this time provides us with the third release from the US based outfit Midnight Idols, and it couldn’t sound different than classic heavy metal of the past, played today.

Coroner Records decided to release the lastest effort of the Italian outfit Disarmonia Mundi . the EP “The Restless Memoirs” on a Double Digipack  release containing also the first album by the band “Nebularium”. I Consider this release as a good move since the album that hase been released in 2002 was originally a self released one, so now Coroner Records made it easier for their fans to get the “Nebularium album, But I’m afraid the only good point of this release is the packaging.

\r\nIt is true that Greek fans aren’t used to the folkish bands from Germany who sweep German metal heads off their feet. I am talking about bands like IN EXTREMO or DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER who sing in the German language and include folkish elements and musical instruments in their music. However should you have the time to check them out you might find very refreshing elements within the genre and even more refreshing bands. This is exactly the case with SALTATIO MORTIS.

The second full length release by this Funeral Doom outfit from Germany has been released a couple of days ago, through Napalm Records, just as their first LP “The Call of the Wretched Sea” in 2006.

Litmus is a London based outfit that deals with the genre of Space Rock, and is about to release their third effort under the title “Aurora”. It is a common knowledge that when we talk about Space Rock we are referring to bands such as Hawkwing, early Pink Floyd and many bands from the 70’s and later on.

\r\nNo doubt, their “extreme” stage image is a main reason why this band had become popular world wide. That was a reason to love or hate Gwar as well.

\r\nFor a moment I was mistaken with the band’s name as I thought it was about the Goth-sters Macbeth. Well nothing in common except for the name. Any doubts just vanished when the first track started playing.
\r\nMacbeth are delivering a Power Thrash blow with really heavy guitars and they truly kick some ass.

Excessive progress destroys music and ..our ears. No matter how hard I tried I failed to understand what Monsterworks are actually trying to play on this one. Casket Music labels them as Extreme Metal (as if metal is not extreme music already..) while introducing them as the most diverse band ever. Well this at least is true. Monsterworks are on the scene (I don’t know which one actually..) for 14 years now and they are playing…everything!

\r\nWith a name such as “Sick Of Society” and an album title called “Weekend Anarchy”, it’s not very hard for someone to guess the music genre in which that particular band is dedicated. So yes, Sick Of Society belong mainly to the punk scene, even though they define their music style as… Porn n’ Roll. Being however on the scene for almost 15 years, the German outfit have given their credentials and obviously nobody expects them to prove something.
