DISTURBED Frontman On BP Crisis: 'I Think It Is An Embarrassment And It Is Unforgivable' - June 28, 2010

DISTURBED frontman David Draiman was recently asked by AOL’s\r\nNoisecreep if he had an opinion about the BP\r\ncrisis. "I have a significant one," he replied. "I think it is an \r\nembarrassment and it is unforgivable. We should have sent every \r\navailable resource the minute it occurred, but watchdog organizations \r\nare in bed with these people and nothing is done. I think that it is \r\nridiculous that we didn’t accept aid from the Saudis right away; the \r\nfreighters they have, and have used, with suction capabilities?"
\r\n
\r\nHe\r\ncontinued, "We left it to BP, who did not take accurate \r\nmeasurements of oil and who lied all along. All they are concerned about\r\nis diverting and saving the constantly leaking orifice instead of \r\ndamming it up and losing the oil. They aren’t worried about saving an \r\necosystem and way of life of fisherman along the Gulf Coast."
\r\n
\r\nDraiman\r\nalso deemed the White House’s reaction to the BP spill as \r\n"tantamount to how Bush handled Katrina. It gets worse every day.\r\nThe marine life is hardest hit, since they have to come to the surface \r\nto breathe and instead take in the toxins. I am beyond disgusted with \r\nthe situation. I have followed it like a madman. It’s unforgivable."
