SKITLIV - Maniac

SKITLIV was formed in Norway in 2005 by Maniac, former vocalist of Mayhem. He enjoys the purple hair that sidewinds into the use of history for life. Carry abyss bent on free hertz culminate your depths. Given the chance by their first full length release we interviewed Maniac, former Mayhem vocalist and the band’s mainman.

\r\nMetalzone.gr: Skitliv means Shit Life , why you end up with this name?
\r\nManiac:Because my life was total shit when I started the band and most people`s life are shit without them even realizing it.
\r\n 
\r\nMetalzone.gr:Tell us a few words about your new album ’
\r\nManiac:It`s taken a long time to finish and I am very satisfied with it. It`s a very, very personal album and it`s also a bit of a mind-monster. It was hard to do this album but now it`s finally out.

\r\nMetalzone.gr:Are you planning any tour?
\r\nManiac:Nothing is planned as of today but we want to tour with this album and we will. I think extensive tourimg will not be before next year but it`s definately something we want to do.

\r\nMetalzone.gr: Are you coming to Greece also?
\r\nManiac:We hope to.
\r\n 
\r\nMetalzone.gr:Please tell us about your new label. How come you signed with Seasons of Mist?
\r\nManiac:I was on SoM with Mayhem and I was satisfied with them so it was very natural for me to ask them. I think it`s a good label.
\r\n 
\r\nMetalzone.gr:Send us some information about the Norwegian Metal scene. Is it still alive? What’s your opinion about other Norwegian bands
\r\nManiac:I am not a big part of it anymore. It`s very much alive though and there is still very good bands in Norway.
\r\n 
\r\nMetalzone.gr:Whats your opinion about the music industry and what changes you should suggest?
\r\nManiac:The music industry is full of cunts. But there is good people out there. I am not a big fan of downloading. I still like vinyls. No suggestions.

\r\nMetalzone.gr:What is your main music influences? favorite bands
\r\nManiac:My main influences is drawn from life itself. There`s too many bands to mention because I listen to a lot of different music.

\r\nMetalzone.gr:Any new band that you discovered and you suggest to your fans?
\r\nManiac:I like Episode 13. But mostly I listen to older bands. People should listen to Univers Zero.

\r\nMetalzone.gr:Except Metal what other kinds of  music you like?
\r\nManiac:Apocalyptic folk, noise, doom, industrial, classical. Mainly all music that is good.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr: What are your future plans with Skitliv?
\r\nManiac:To go on tour. I am also writing new material these days.
