Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengeance

Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengeance

When a sweet being asks you to write something about JUDAS PRIEST then it’s impossible to say no, even more so when you have "tortured" her with your incessant chatter that has to be translated... For a moment she tried to take her revenge asking me to write a review about Ram It Down but probably she took pity on me (I’m on a critical age and the heart attack is around the corner) and she decided she wants me to write about Screaming For Vengeance. Your wish is my command my lady and let’s leave the rubbish rest in the dustbin...

\r\nGreat PRIEST ninth album came out in July 1982 and succeeded the mediocre and disappointing Point Of Entry, an album rather "american", with which JUDAS PRIEST tried to reach to the other side of the Atlantic but the only thing they achieved was to disappoint their million fans. You know, some things in life should never change. JUDAS PRIEST are the most classic Heavy Metal group of all times and THEY AREN’T ALLOWED TO PLAY ANYTHING ELSE. Whether you like it or not... JUDAS PRIEST equals to pure Heavy Metal. Everything else is just half mesure...

\r\nLuckily PRIEST realized their mistake and returned on track in an impressive and ...deafening way!!! Those of you who have "sensitive" ears you’d better use covers because in this album the great Rob Halford, being absolutely amazing, screams as if possessed, obviously trying to prove wrong anyone who questioned his title as Metal God. You see he was... refreshed, as in Point Of No Entry it was as if he was muzzled, o you imagine what I’m talking about. The same goes for Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing, whose familiar riffs and solos brought back the... normal Heavy Metal sound.

\r\nHappy and glorious day for their much afflicted fans. JUDAS PRIEST made up for it with some of the best songs they have ever written. The excellent Electric Eye with the pompus intro Hellion, could easily become their absolute anthem. But with so many anthems written by these guys which one to put first? Anyway, the point is that The Hellion/Electric Eye is one of them!!! Afterwards, you should turn the volume down a little because in the awsome Riding On The Wind, Halford won’t shut up and there’s big chance your ears along with your speakers get irreparably harmed and damaged!!! Bloodstone that follows is also a great song while (Take These)Chains and Pain And Pleasure I’d say they are indifferent and go with the Point Of No Entry style better.
\r\n
\r\nThe homonymous track of the album that comes next matches completely as it is heavy, fast, amazing and JUDAS PRIEST!!! You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’ is one of their famous and most heard songs, even though it’s not considered as one of their best. Actually was it played by another band I would find it boring. But when you listen these legends of Metal then everything is nice and easy! Fever is a really good and melodic song and the album finishes with Devil’s Child, one of the best songs in this album in my opinion that never got the attention it deserved.
\r\n
\r\nThis is Screaming For Vengeance, these are JUDAS PRIEST and this is Heavy Metal. Just like that. I hope you, young ones have this album and enjoy it while you, the older ones enjoy it once more so that you remember and "dig it" even more!!! I hope you also "dig" this little gift for your birthday, Barbie!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
