MILLENNIUM (UK) - S/T

I Think that many times before we have been referred to the N.W.O.B.H.M. musical movement, and we keep on doing this, and probably this is a fact that ensures the whole metal audience that despite the time and the money will you spent on N.W.O.B.H.M , you would never be able to trace and listen to all of these “rough diamonds” that have been released from the U.K. and Europe in general. This monument feature is about an album that all of the friends of  N.W.O.B.H.M sound consider as a classic LP and it’s about a very good example of British steel
\r\nMillennium was a five piece outfit formed in 1982 at Cleveland (U.K) and in 1983 they had the opportunity to be part of a split compilation LP “Pure Overkill” released through Guardian Records, along with bands like Incubus, Spartan Warrior and Tokyo Rose. After this release Guardian Records offer them an - one LP - deal and in 1984 the same tiled album (Millennium) has been released. Frankly this LP is one of the best N.W.O.B.H.M. releases I have ever listened to. The LP features music with “balls”, a solid rytmh section and some outstanding guitar work. I strongly believe that most of the tracks has to be widely – known to the metal audience around the globe.
\r\nUnfortunately, things went really bad for Millennium, because due to financial problems their label has to close down, something that means that there wasn’t any promotion for their LP and their second album had to be released as a self- financed demo – tape. Moreover they did two more demo tapes in 1985 and 1987 but with a more “Thrasy” musical direction, after all that was the time of the “Thrash Exploitation” on US and Europe.
\r\nWell, as you see, the continuing is more or less known for such bands, so the band disbanded but their left behind the legacy of one superb LP.
