More - Warhead

\r\n

\r\nOne more group from Great Britain, a classic example of a group which was deeply influenced fron the 70’s. This might be the reason, why they didn’t made a carrer in the long run, although their label was the multinational company ATLANTIC. But what should Atlantic first promote?\r\n

\r\n

\r\nIntergrated in the same time with many other groups ofthe british scene at the early 80’s, they incorporated less elements from the sound, as it was formed at that period, while they made obvious their influences from the whole sound of the 70’s, mainly from Led Zeppeli, Thin Lizzy, UFO, as well from progressive groups, introduced them in harder forms, bu their way and not by copying. Powerful hard, tough vocals, tied rythm section, beautiful rythm with quitar having the leading role, especially this of Kenny Kox, who colours all the songs with many gorgeous solos. His adoration to Schenker (not of Scorpions) is obvious. \r\n

\r\nThe album begins with the homonymous song "Warhead". Speedy, from the best moments of the album. In the same style are the "Road Rocket" and "Way Of The World". The album continues with more hard rock situations in the "Fire", with the catapletic UFO rythm, a smell of Queen, early Jethro Tull elements in the middle of the song and pretty quitar solos. In the "Soldier", there is a bizarre rythm, leaving the melody be the guide in the "Desperation" and "Lord Of the Twilight", with rythm changes and a lovely refrain. All their essence is eing obvious in "We are the band", a simple song in its structure, with powerful rythm changes and a continuously amazing riff. The same style guilts for the last song of the album "I have no answers", with its excellent riff, its "slangy" vocals and its "sweet" bass. Addictive, which can enrapture you, maybe the uppermost moment of the album, promising so much for the future, which never came true. Next year they released the album "Blood and Thunder", without reaching the artistic and commercial levels of "Warhead". What a pity!...We liked them however!\r\n
