Arch Rival - In The Face Of Danger

Arch Rival - In The Face Of Danger

\r\nMany fans of melodic heavy metal remember Arch Rival’s legendary debut that led to them being characterised as "simply one of the best metal bands ever produced in the U.S.A. past or present!" . It’s important for fans of this music to know and value its history and a good way to do so, are the re-releases of forgotten albums. Surely, though, someone has to be very careful where to spend his/her money as the options are so many and the times we live are difficult. Let’s see what happens in the case of Arch Rival...\r\n

\r\nSome history first; we are talking about a band that released their official debut "In The Face Of Danger" on 1991 and then followed two more albums in 1993 with "Wake Up Your Mind" and "Third Degree Burns" in 1997 which was their last album until now. The band, which supported artists like Bad Company, went into non-existence for eleven years. Newly established label, Rock-a-holics records decided to sign them and re-release their debut on a new basis. The album was remastered, preserving the dynamics, while also respecting the original mix balance, giving at the same time a huge boost to their sound. Adding 2 live bonus tracks, a one hour DVD with 3 promo videos and 10 segued live videoclips, all together in a digipack with new cover that preserved the band’s maschot, Archie, we have a pretty good bargain.\r\n

\r\nAs far as the album is concerned, we are talking about two siginificant musicians who have been seriously underrated for all these years, the singer Steve Snyder and the guitar player, Michael Harris. High vocal lines, without exaggerating and great solos by M. Harris and we have this masterpiece as an outcome. Check out: "In The Face Of Danger". "Rock The Night Away", "Fortune Hunter" and the Beatles’ cover "Revolution" . The influences from Iron Maiden and Dokken are obvious and fans of this genre that never heard of A.R. before, should check this one out. \r\n

\r\nThis re-release is recommended to the fans of melodic hard rock and heavy metal. Arch Rival refused in 1991 to follow the times’ decaying fashion of sleaze/aor music and poser attitude and went their own way by making a great album and due to this fact I believe they deserve our respect and patience for a new release as they’ve already stated.\r\n
