BITTERNESS - Genociety

BITTERNESS - Genociety

\r\nIt’s like a devastating earthquake or more like a bomber flying over leveling the place with a hail of bullets. I can’t think of something more appropriate to describe what I’ve just listened to. Well some of you might question, what exactly is this kind of music described as a “hail of bullets”? well nowadays a description like this would make you think of some Death or Black metal band, not to mention some Grind-core stuff but since I am a bit stuck with the past and I still think of myself back in the day when I was labeled an outcast, even by some metalheads, just because I was listening to Destruction or Kreator, I will write this review taking into consideration that the above mentioned genres have as a main influence a reborn genre, not other than Thrash metal.
\r\nSo I am writing about Thrash with a capital T because that’s all I can think of when I am listening to these 3 Germans wrecking havoc the way their fellow countrymen and not only, taught them. The good old Thrash metal recipe seems to work just fine for the band. Bitterness are not new in the scene since they root back in 2001 formed by ex members of Steel Tormentor, having released 4 full length albums and 2 EP’s since then.
\r\nTheir influences of Kreator and Destruction are more than obvious especially in songs like the opening track “Suicide Squad” but that’s not all since “Gonociety” has some Swedish death metal elements here and there, something that makes it even more interesting. Even the vocals in some songs differ in style becoming more aggressive reaching Black Metal levels bringing to mind bands like Dissection. This is more obvious in tracks like “The Darkening” or “Down in Flames” but this doesn’t corrode their Thrash identity.
\r\nWell, here we have 8 old school thrash metal dynamites ready to explode in your face. Nothing less, nothing more. You should definitely grab his one!
