Coram Deo - Death Is Dead

Coram Deo - Death Is Dead

Coram Deo are from Ukraine and they play melodic death metal. This is their new e.p entitled "Death Is Dead". The only work they have released so far is "Evangelion" album (2007). They formed the band in 2003 playing power metal back then, but the influences and mood of power metal are still here, even if their style has changed to a more aggressive now.

\r\nAfter some shots in my player i think this music is numb and old. Production is quite good i can tell but we don’t have many complexities in there, neither some tech extremities. The guys play melodic death metal along with some power metal influences and that’s all. Music is clear, guitar and bass sound are pretty much ok for what they play and with the female brutal vocals making the result more weird, we have an album that battles to avoid the mediocrity. Coram Deo means"in the presence of God", and lyricaly they speak about God, Christianity etc. So here we have christian melodic death metal. Strange combination indeed but that would be no problem if the music was intense. But instead of an intense music i listened to an e.p that lasts for 25 minutes and it was getting boring every time. Very few good riffs are not enough to put an album in the high places of the scene.

\r\nCoram Deo offers a melodic death metal work along with some power metal ideas which points to the fans of this music, but in my opinion it didn’t make it especially these days that many top rated works are out in the market. They have to try harder if they want to make some music that people will listen to and be attached to it.
