DECREPIT BIRTH - Polarity

Decrepit Birth hail from California with their brand new third studio release entitled “Polarity”. Truth is that though I’ve never heard of that band till now I found their Tech Death Metal delivered on Polarity pretty interesting.
\r\nOn their compositions their Influences from bands like Death or Cynic are more than obvious and I have to mention that, though they are no match to the above mentioned bands, especially Death, they sound pretty decent. Their technique and performance skills are unquestionable and the constant changing of rhythm on every track gives the songs that complicated feeling that most bands of that genre have as a trademark. What was a pleasant surprise to my ears was the overflowing of melody on almost every track, a contradiction to the growling death metal vocals (funny they didn’t use any “clean” choruses…). The guitar work is outstanding especially on the solos and the same goes to του Zack Ohren’s bombastic production (the man responsible for the production of bands like Suffocation and Immolation among others)
\r\nSo, without being a groundbreaking record, we all know it’s really tough to stand out when it comes to the specific genre, “polarity” is a worthy recommendation fer those who like their death metal a bit more…progressive.
