Era Nova - Children Of Alcyone

Era Nova - Children Of Alcyone

\r\nEra Nova was a very pleasant surprise to me, as it is a really inspired new band. They come from France, they were formed on 2002, they released the demo "Sin Eater" on 2005, and their debut album, “Children of Alcyone”, was released a few months ago.
\r\nThe intro track of the cd is actually the same as the intro of the astonishing song “Memento Mori” from Kamelot; what follows is a storm of melodies, stunning guitaristic parts, bittersweet atmosphere on the keyboards and an absolutely tight and solid rhythm section. There’s a lot of melancholy, both on the music field and the vocals. Speaking of which, the vocals should have been louder and more intense, plus the production should have been more massive.
\r\nEven though there are influences from bands such as Kamelot, Edguy, Angra, even Iron Maiden, well, Era Nova, sure is a special case and hopefully they will soon become a very strong name in the modern Melodic Power Metal scene. And I ‘m not talking only about the local metal scene of France. \r\n
