Jackal - IV

Jackal - IV

One thing we can take as a fact is that Denmark’s contribution on Heavy metal bands was never that big but any band coming from this country was at least of exceptional quality. Bands like Mercyful Fate, Pretty Maids etc. are here to prove me right. Jackal are not the exception to the rule though they belong to the bands that released a few amazing albums and then they just disappeared without having the success they surely deserved. After a very good debut album (“Strike” 1990) they are releasing the amazing “Vague Visions” (1993) while a year later they are returning with the exceptional “A safe look in mirrors”. This was the last time we heard from them..they just vanished leaving nothing back but their cult name. “IV” as the title obviously implies is their forth release and is equal to their previews works. Jackal took the risk of a reunion and they simply won the bet.
\r\nThe compositions are just awesome. Choruses that would remain stuck in your head from the very first listening, mind-blowing riffing and powerful melodies. What else could you ask for? Not to mention Brian Rich’s voice that sounds strong and full of emotion giving the songs the character they need, taking them to another level.
\r\nAll the songs here are a fine example of how Heavy Metal ( I never thought of Jackal as typical euro-power metal band anyway. Not their style) should be played nowadays having its root back to the early 90’s. They manage to sound “classic” and modern at the same time.
\r\nThose of you already familiar with Jackal’s music you can start smiling because you know what to expect, as for the others…just GRAB IT!
