Jasta - Jasta

\r\nHatebreed’s frontman is a persona that happens to be respected by the majority of the scene. Either for music related reasons or anything else, this guy has done productions, has helped promote fellow bands and generally he’s an active dude. This album is his first effort to a personal level. Some may wonder: what is there for him to give other than his characteristic work in Hatebreed? To be honest I haven’t been the biggest HB fan around but this here album seems to be showing a new face of dear mr J.

\r\n So, we hear Jamey singing. Yes, actually singing in a melodic way while he screams are still here of course. And he actually does a damn good job while at it. I’m not saying he started doing some crazy Freddy Mercury stuff, it’s just that the man knows his abilities and limitations and creates melodies within his own boundaries. The songs are heavy, with catchy choruses and the known recipe structures. You know what to expect but he made sure you don’t get the wrong idea about all this so he invited some of his friends. Members from Black Label Society, Lamb of God, As I Lay Dying and more give the word variety a new meaning with their appearances. Surely these guys are a bonus on this album but I will not focus on them as I appreciated Jasta’s effort for some clean singing.

\r\n I’m not sure Hatebreed fans, or his fans for that matter, were "eagerly" awaiting this release, the thing is there is some worthy material that people should lay their ears upon, fans or not. Music with impact and rich in sounds, the songs can grab you and not let go. I’m quite positive the guys that follow Jasta will give in to this cd. I’d also recomment it to other freaks too, not bad at all!\r\n
