Jex Thoth - Witness

The new release from Jex Thoth is happening and I can see the smiles on their fan’s faces. The Californian outfit until now keep on proving their unique musical identity and sound mixing their down tempo / doom influences with many 70’s psych elements and of course having the superb voice of Jex as trademark of their sound.
\r\nTheir out breaking release, I suppose, it was their self titled LP a couple o years ago, a fact that made the band to re – release their first EP (originally on 2007, as Totem) on vinyl last year but this time under their current name (Jex Thoth),
\r\nSo, in 2010 their second EP is already released under the title “Witness” and I have to admit that these guys left me once again speechless with their mystical, mesmerizing sound. Their two new original compositions sound just perfect to my ears while the cover to Slapp Happy song “Mr. Rainbow” set chills down my spine, as the original version does.
\r\nI really wanted this EP to last longer since is about 15 minutes running time but the quality of music is the most certain thing. All of the fans of Jex Thoth and the specific sound this is a release to buy and enjoy without any doubt, as for me, I am looking forward to the new masterpiece.
