\r\nIn December 2008, Lillian Axe entered Sound Landing Studios in Covington, LA with co-producer and engineer, Rob Hovey, to begin recording Sad Day on Planet Earth. In January 2009, Lillian Axe moved their recording process to Talent Gone Wild Studios in Mandeville, LA to continue the recording under the guidance and hard work of co-producer and engineer Rob Hovey. Finally, on April 14, 2009, Lillian Axe completed the recording and mixing of their ninth album.
\r\nFifteen songs in length(could have been less), this album is Lillian statement in 2009 Dark times we all live. Although the Glam scene is dead and gone for good these guys made a statement here. They are not nostalgic neither a dino-something band out to make money again. Their hard rock is fair. Nice melodies filled with an 80s vibe and a 00s production. They are easily better than Velvet Revorver’s overrated works for example. Songwriter Steve Blaze, did a nice job again. A pleasant listening for Hard Rock fans indeed. This album is good for nowdays. By the way this cover easily wins a rotten tomato award from me. Hands down, truly!
