No Hand Path - An Existence Regained

No Hand Path is a Greek black metal band and their first album entitled "An Existence Regained " is here after a long time. When these guys formed the band back in 2006 they were playing a more traditional black metal in the veins of the old classic bands of the scene. They released then their first demo entitled "First Farewell" and you could listen to their influences by this old black metal spirit. But after that it seems that the band became more mature i can say, resulting in 2011’s "An Existence Regained" and here we have a great album.

\r\nOne thing that i totaly like, is when i see some bands making big steps to the top. It is clear who these bands are. You can see it in what they are doing in time with their music. You can see the evolution of a musician’s mind. Here we have a band that started from the stadar paths of black metal, they played a traditional style of music that was very familiar to people’s ears. After that maybe some things changed and these guys from Athens decided to unleash what they had in mind. Definitely that was the right choice as we have an album way better than many many albums outhere now.
\r\nMusic reminded me of those modern intellectual black metal bands but with a traditional feeling lurking in there, waiting to remind you that by playing nonsense music with 250 fake-blurred notes in a second, does not mean anything. No hand path are full of sense and music. They are just great. Awesome music. And i say music because it is real music and not some extreme modern tech demonstration without meaning. A great production with all instruments’ sounds clear as hell. Big variety of ideas, mature opinions on music, pretty cool concept, insane atmospheres at parts, a traditional feeling of black metal, music that playing with your mind in sick, depressing ways mixed with paranoid senses.
\r\nThe only objection i had was the clear vocals in parts, that i think the vocalist’s voice doesn’t fit with some of these tones he tried. But that’s nothing for real when you have results like these. In general we have top class music and playing.

\r\nA great evolution for the band, gives "An Existence Regained", an awesome debut album appeared in the right time and place when the scene is under construction and bands like these rebuilding the genre. Rebuilding the genre in a self-financed way. I forgot to mention that no contract has been inked yet cause nowadays record labels are a bunch of crap who don’t care about music. Check ’em out or die!!!
