Paradox - Electrify

Paradox - Electrify

\r\nAfter an unforgettable night in Athens, it was time for Paradox to release their new album. Despite the fact that the band exists for about twenty years, Electrify is only its fourth full length album. Personally, I wait for this release with great anticipation, but to be honest I knew what I was going to listen in Electrify. Moreover, I believe that every fan of the band, knows what to wait. What Paradox introduces us here is well played Thrash Metal, which is mainly influenced by American scene and groups such as Annihilator, Testament, Metallica etc. Although they come from Germany, a country that rises in Thrash Metal, their influences from Destruction, Sodom come to second place. Personally, this doesn’t matter me at all, because I am bigger fan of melodic situations. No few people say that Paradox is the connection between American Thrash and American Power Metal sound. This merely finds me agreeable, as there are a lot of parts, that the band remind me of Iced Earth. In Electrify, what can be easily seen is the long duration of the songs and the well organized playing. Every Paradox song here, has something different to offer to us, while all of them contain some of the best solos that the group has written until now. Another thing that it can be easily understood is the love of those Germans to Metallica, as Infected (which will be the new video clip), is as it is written from them not only for the vocals but also music. Electrify is a modern album, which also carries something from the past. Melody and thrash outbreaks are meeting with each other and the result is an album, which not only can remain classic, but also can easily gain anybody. Also, we must mention that the mix of the album has been done by Jacob Hansen in Denmark. \r\n
