RALF SCHEEPERS - Scheepers

RALF SCHEEPERS - Scheepers

Ralf Scheepers has built himself quite a reputation for being one of the finest German Heavy Metal singers. With a career spanning three decades, debuting with Tyran Pace and after taking part in the first three albums of GAMMA RAY, he started Primal Fear in 1997, with Mat Sinner. Apart from these, both Helloween and Judas Priest considered him as their possible next lead singer.
\r\nThis album consists of a few tracks that Ralf wrote over the years and did not fit exactly in the Primal Fear concept, but being of course very close to that. So the result, will not only please their existing fan base, but also the entirety of metal fans. Scheepers also offers some surprises, like the cover of Judas Priest’s “Before the Dawn” and the addition of some well respected guests like Victor Smolski (Rage), Gamma Ray’s Kai Hansen (“The Pain Of The Accused”), Halford’s Metal Mike(“Locked In The Dungeon”) or Tim “Ripper” Owens on a vocal duet on “Remission Of Sin”,among others.
\r\nThroughout this album you will find great vocal melodies, where Scheepers’ voice, varying from high pitches to low ones (without exaggerating), manages  to be majestic, while on the other hand the great guitar and riffing work that has been made, is quite noticeable. Some of the songs that will gain your attention by he first spin would be : "Doomsday" with the atmosphere that evokes, "Remission Of Sin", "Cyberfreak" with its catchy chorus, the mid tempo "The Fall" or the powerful opening track "Locked In The Dungeon".
\r\nEnding I have to say that even if you will find nothing really innovative here, the album is inspired enough to accompany you, as it is full of great songs, powerful melodies, exceptional guitar work and of course the voice of Scheepers giving the right direction.
