RATT - Infestation

\r\nWhat’s with the new hard rock releases anyway? Are they gonna drive us nuts? First we had “Crazy Lixx” then “Treat” along with “Crashdiet” and now these guys!!! Now that’s what I call a “Hard Rocking Year”! so is finaly time for the legendary Ratt to release their new album called “Infestation” and we’re not talking about a simple reunion album, this one’s a masterpiece!!
\r\nRatt with the 3/5 of the original line up and Steve Pearcy taking over the mic managed to create an album that could easily have been released back in the day when they have reached their peak. There’s no reason why “Infestation” shouldn’t be among their other masterpieces like the amazingly sleazy “Out Of The Cellar” or the completely awesome “Invasion Of Your Privacy”.
\r\nWell ten years after their latest self titled release (Ratt – 1999) Stephen Pearcy and his gang decided to join forces again and release an album that makes them proud along with their numerous fans!
\r\n“Infestation” is that awesome that could be labeled as “Classic” even this very moment! There’s absolutely no flaw in this one. All the elements that characterized not only Ratt but the genre itself are here at last. Solid riffing that makes you wanna get to the closest strip club, Warren DeMartini and Carlos Cavazo’s (the legendary Quiet Riot guitarist, for those unaware) melodic solos, the sarcastic and full of attitude voice of Stephen Pearcy, the “personal” lyrics about sexy chicks and booze and rock ‘n’ roll everything’s in place reeking of sweat and adrenaline! That has always been the feeling of Ratt, something that most of the new reunion albums seem to lack. I don’t know what was happening during the recordings (and I’d really like to know) but the band sounds totally amazing as if “Infestation” is their debut album and not another release after almost 30 years on the scene!
\r\nI won’t bother trying to describe why this album is so fucking great and how much awesome is each track, this would be useless as I thing that is pretty much the same as trying to judge among the playmates on the playboy mansion who’s hotter, you simply can’t do that, can you?
\r\nWell one thing’s for sure, after listening to this one your mood will definitely change and you’ll start seeing the funny side of things, through another point of view (like the bottom of a glass for example!). Now that the summer’s finally here and is “Hunting season” (if you know what I mean..) arm yourselves with a six pack and condoms, put up your sleazy smile and off you go! “Infestation” will just lead the way!
