Sick Of Society - Weekend Anarchy

Sick Of Society - Weekend Anarchy

\r\nWith a name such as “Sick Of Society” and an album title called “Weekend Anarchy”, it’s not very hard for someone to guess the music genre in which that particular band is dedicated. So yes, Sick Of Society belong mainly to the punk scene, even though they define their music style as… Porn n’ Roll. Being however on the scene for almost 15 years, the German outfit have given their credentials and obviously nobody expects them to prove something.

\r\nIn “Weekend Anarchy” , which is their sixth official album, the listener will basically meet up with classic punk rock, along with slices of hardcore and even metal, while at some points their sound “loosens” a bit and goes a bit pop/ska. This means there is some variety in their sound, as much variety can exist in a punk record of course. Speaking about originality is obviously out of the question, since even someone with a small knowledge of the punk sound will be able to discover that Sick Of Society’s ideas have be already overplayed by many other band that defined that sound (see Bad Religion for example..). The good thing however about this album is that it is well played and honest and its listening flows pleasantly without being boring or anything like that, something that becomes easier by its small length, with 16 songs in just 36 minutes. So if you are a fan of the punk sound, you won’t have a hard time to give a chance to Sick Of Society’s…porn n’ roll!
