Through Your Silence - The Zenith Distance

Through Your Silence - The Zenith Distance

\r\n I actually never thought I’d see bands whose influences date back only a few years. Through Your Silence(cliche name, I know) try to mix all this melodic deathcore thing with their own sound but they do not manage to stray from the path that much..
\r\n
\r\n Which path is that? Let’s start from the crisp production, way too clear and rather "plastic". But since this is kind of a trademark for the genre let’s move on. This could be a personal issue I have. So, at times they remind of Born of Osiris, some others they lean towards Winds of Plague and many more towards Heaven Shall Burn. In between they try to add some key points to divert from the masses. Some electronic sounds, some clear vocals here and there(both male and female) can make the difference(just listen to the remarkable Worthless) and give a sense of character to The Zenith Distance. But when those (way too common)swedish type riffs take over you start thinking that the whole thing should take a turn or something. While the band shows potential and ideas, they cannot overcome the boredom boundaries..
\r\n
\r\n But I’d better not be a complete jackass, for instane if you like Neaera, you are sure to discover beautiful things in here. I think Through Your SIlence have a lot more interesting melodies than the mentioned above german act. The use of keyboards is quite sufficient and gives an alternative touch without being gay or any other bad you may think of when the word keyboard shows up. To sum it up the guys have their moments but I also think they’ve got plenty of fillers that keep them down. The future is bound to show their abilities eventually so for now it would be a great idea to give The Zenith Distance a chance if you dig any of the bands I mentioned. There are plenty of cool melodies here and the album surely is better than a large number of bullshit that flies out there.\r\n
