Astral Aeon - Allegories of Light

Astral Aeon - Allegories of Light

Well, I still wonder why this album reached rather late, since it’s about a 2008 release, but anyway this is the debut full length by the Greek black metal outfit Astral Aeon and despite the rather later arrival of this one, I dare to admit that this album is beyond any expectation being such a great release.
\r\nThis is where the fisrt and second wave of Norwegian Black metal (Emperor, Darkthrone, Satyricon) meets the 90’s Greek black metal (Necromantia, Rotting Christ) and all this wrapped in in such a great production and good atmosphere.
\r\nThe “Allegories Of Light” is a very good mixture of classic black metal riffing, classic high pitched black metal shrieks and blast beat that sometimes move to a more mid tempo motif just to fit with the whole atmosphere of the album, and this one is full of it. The lyrical themes of the album is for sure inspired by classic writers that explored the dark part of human mind and terror in general, to name a few H.P. Lovecraft, E.A. Poe, Goethe something that fits great with the whole atmosphere.
\r\nIt deserves your attention for sure
