Cruachan - Blood On The Black Robe

Cruachan - Blood On The Black Robe

Well, there are some groups that really have marked our existence, maybe because they were one of the first bands we’ve ever listen to , we keep on getting older listening to them and In general we evolve in our life as those groups themselves, ok I know this is not philosophy this is a metal album review so… one of those bands that really have marked my life is Cruachan from Dublin (Ireland). I consider the 5 years of silence since their last album   “The Morrigan’s Call” a long period and to be honest I have missed their magical music, since the most of the folklore bands sound like a pile of sh*t in comparison with Cruachan.
\r\nSo the Irish are back on a new label (Candlelight Records) and their new 6th full length, “Blood On The Black Robe”. I think that you need a review for this one right? Well lads words are not enough to express the way I feel about the new epic album!! For me this band is the only band after early Skyclad and Waylander that can combine folk and metal elements with such perfection. The only thing I feel like writing is that during the listening of the album my mind was on a weird state… I  felt like my bedroom was a green battle field and my widow a great waterfall …some unique out of this earth folklore melodies filled the air while on the background I ve been listening a continious double kick bass and the screams of  Fay" O’Fathaigh!!!
\r\nWhen the masters release an album / opus all we have to do is to buy it and enjoy their Irish magic!
