DAKRYA - Crime Scene

Dakrya - Crime Scene

\r\nDakrya is a greek word and it means “tears”. I don’t know what these guys were thinking when they picked this name for the band, but one thing is for sure: they will bring you anything but tears with their music.
\r\nNo, it’s not that it is a happy music, yet it is mesmerizing and imposing. The intense dramatic tone of the songs and the so theatrical performance on the vocals – by Christina Kalantzi, Thomais Chatzigianni and George Droulias on the brutal ones) result to such a special  and incredible piece of work.
\r\nSometimes you may even lose the sense of reality while listening to a song. As I was listening to this album, scenes from the movie Sweeney Todd were passing from my mind over and over; the vocals are so imposing combined with the horror film-like melodies and the atmosphere on the keyboards that it kinda felt as if I was watching a movie and Helena Bonham Carter was singing near some odd, “black”, moody place instead.
\r\nIf these form of art, this kind of odd, slightly disturbed, spooky, dark and, at the same time, fairytale-like ways of expression, the avant garde feeling and the multidimensional music perspective appeals to you, you will love this band. Well, I did.
\r\nCredits for the absolutely marvelous sound quality.  (Mixed at Underground Studios in Sweden by Pelle Saether (Diablo Swing Orchestra, Draconian), Mastered at Mastering Room AB in Sweden by Goran Finnberg (In Flames, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity), Produced by SophiaX, Co-Produced by Pelle Saether & George Bokos) \r\n
