FAIRYLAND - Score To A New Beginning

“Score To A New Beginning” is Fairyland’s new album and is exactly what the title implies.
\r\nTruth is that I never bothered listening to their previews works or followed the bands progress during the years since I thought that their Symphonic Metal is overplayed and long gone. Especially when there are bands like Rhapsody or Nightwish (in their latest releases) why should anyone bother listening to these guys?
\r\nWell, listening to this album made me reconsider my opinion…It seems that in “Score To A New Beginning” the job is done, and is done well.
\r\nThe band’s only composer ( or more correctly ..the band himself) Mr. Phillipe Giordana seems to have surpassed himself since this album sounds way better than his previews works. Don’t expect to listen to something new or groundbreaking, that’s not likely when you’re playing Symphonic Power metal, what you should expect is inspired compositions in the style of Rhapsody and Nightwish along with some really awesome playing from the guest musicians participating on this album. And that’s exactly what you’re going to listen to.
\r\nWhat makes this album really interesting is that each song flows seamlessly to the other just like the way film-scores sound. The production is flawless and the use of keyboards and melodic female vocals, when is necessary, tend to create that special atmosphere.
\r\nI am sure that no one expects from Fairyland to reinvent the wheel….what they expect is to listen to well arranged compositions and In that part Fairyland won’t disappoint anyone.
