MANTIC RITUAL - Executioner

\r\nAnd while I was pretty sure that the glorious Thrash Metal is reviving in its former glory taking its lifeforce mainly from Brazil ….these Americans proved me wrong by blowing my fucking head off!!
\r\nThe answer to the Brazilian dominion is here and its name is Mantic Ritual! The fact is that after listening to “Executioner” I’m still trying to figure out what hit me! I never thought that a bunch of kids could ever wreak such havoc!!
\r\nMantic Ritual are delivering a load of pure Thrash metal and they really KICK SOME FUCKING ASS!! Just like that. Just like all the Gods of Thrash did back in the day!
\r\nWhat did you say? They are not having something new to offer? Why the hell should they? Is there any Thrasher out there looking for something never heard before, instead of killer riffs that would crash his neck from headbanging? That’s the only purpose of Thrash Metal. Those who are listening to music just to consider it “food for thought” well they can listen to some other genre. Definitely not to Thrash.
\r\nOk the opening track “one by one” might remind you of early Slayer..So what? The main riffing of the “Executioner” might sound like Destruction’s “Mad Butcher” or Dan Wetmore’s voice might bring to your mind a combination of young James Hetfield and Mille Petrozza….well what’s the problem in this? Does he scream less passionate than them? Are their compositions less powerful than theirs? Definitely NOT.
\r\nI’m telling you, in order to play Thrash Metal you don’t have to graduate from Berkeley music college. You have to own 2 important things. Balls and Guts and Mantic Ritual seem to possess both of them. If they continue playing like this we should not be afraid of the future of Thrash Metal. Even if the old guard is retired.
\r\nI won’t bother talking about production, sound and shit.. when your staring at your brains splattered on the wall these things really don’t matter. The job is done.
\r\nThose of you who are into Thrash, there’s no way you won’t dig this one. Those of you who are not ..Do so NOW!!\r\n
