Pensees Nocturnes - Vacuum

\r\n

\r\nHere we have got a\r\nblend of Black metal with classical music by a one man band of\r\ncomposer Vaerhon from France. What I listened to reminded me of early\r\nIn The Woods… mixed with Chopin, but I don’t think the mix is\r\nthat tight. Apart from electric guitars and bass you can listen to\r\npiano and glockenspiel among others, since Vaehron wishes to\r\nexperiment,while the lyrics are in his native language. The\r\nproduction is ok and the mastering is good, too but I think those\r\nromantic piano breaks don’t match the depressing black metal\r\nPensees Nocturnes provide in “Vacuum”. The melancholic mix of\r\nFolk, Classical music and Black Metal doesn’t really seem so moving\r\nto me. I would suggest Vaehron to concentrate on his dark and heavy\r\nparts and be more raw (of course without leaving the melancholy\r\nfactor of the music-it is possible). Anyway, Pensees Nocturnes have\r\nthe appetite for work and that is what should be done in order to\r\nimpress us more. Last, the drums could be better edited and the Blues\r\nparts would better be left off the record. We will be waiting for the\r\nnext one.\r\n
