Virus - The Agent That Shapes the Desert

Virus...
\r\nWhat can anyone really say about these genre makers? About these music genre builders? These guys are a unique music by themselves. From the ashes of legendary Norway black metal band Ved Buens Ende came Virus back in 2000 when Czral(Carl-Michael) decided to bring to the world another taste of music but similar in a way to Ved Buens Ende’s majesty. They released 2 albums "Carheart" and "The Black Flux" and "The Agent That Shapes the Desert" is their third masterpiece and i think that is their best work so far.
\r\n
\r\nWhile in Carheart we’re listening to these twisted melodies and all this stuff that made it special and beyond imagination black flux’s mature sound and performance by top musicians, we were wondering if there can be any chance to bring another, more powerfull and unique at the same time music. Well, this question is answered with this brand new record. This time they seem to have finaly fix their sound to more stadar sound for the band and a more mature sound in everything, has replaced the old imbalanced and unique at the same time thing they had.
\r\nVirus are said to play progressive rock but that’s so false in my opinion.
\r\n
\r\nVirus’ music is a different kind, is a kind by itself just like Ved Buens Ende’s music. Every single note that will come from their mind will be different and we have to accept this. It is great to see some musicians to play music like all the others, notes like all the others, but the performace of this musician is doomed to make this damn difference that all artists want. In this case we have here, Czral looks like he doesn’t even try to make the difference. Just listen to how they perform Dead Cities Of Syria, with all these ethnic-like tunes and these melancholic ala "Tea Party" taste thats always haunts their music, along with the paranoia, the unique sound and so on. Twisted chords in mix with normal and reversing tempo themes, a rock taste in sound but so sick, so abnormal melodies to listen to from a rock guitar, touchy feeling as always bringing many pictures in mind riff by riff. I thing that i do not have to speak about production or sound on the instruments or things like that because i simply do not have to say anything as always when it comes to Virus. There are a lot of sounds, experiments and ideas on music. ...and they are all just perfect!!!Oh, i just found a bad thing...The Black Flux’s "Intermission" was better than the new. And this is of course a personal opinion. All the ingredients this music demands are here. Excellent sound, a unique production, great ideas and Virus’ performace to guarantee for this awesome new album.

\r\nA new masterpiece.
