THE SILENT WEDDING

Metalzone.gr: Hi! Firstly, we would like to tell us how the band formed and what the semantics of the name ... if any!
\r\nThe Silent Wedding: For years we were a Greek-speaking heavy / rock band with discography (Pyr kai Mania) and eventually we got to play metal with Greek lyrics and covers were only metal as well (Paradise Lost, Judas Priest, etc.). So, the same members decided to form a metal band with English verse, so in 2006 created the Silent Wedding. Because we all like very much and we agreed immediately thought of the name Silent Wedding... Secret Agreement... an agreement under the table ... but the term also contains the meaning of the above mentioned union!
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr:
Just 6 months after you formed the band already had some live shows and began recording a demo including 3 compositions of your own! How do you explain this great progress?
\r\nThe Silent Wedding: Basically, since new members came to the band, things took their course and the first tracks came up quickly and live shows as well. Surely, that was the primary goal of the band to create and promote our own compositions and secondary the covers.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr:
However, occurred a full year until the completion and release of demo. Why is that?
\r\nThe Silent Wedding: The truth is that at that time there were many obstacles that have delayed the process of recording. First of all came the military requirements for 2 of the members of the band (voice-Marios & Anthony-guitar), and then an accident of the keyboardist which forced him not to play to date. Therefore, during recordings we had to search for a new member to replace him. Nevertheless, we overcame all difficulties and recordings have been finally completed.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr: Overall, what are your musical influences?
\r\nThe Silent Wedding: The musical influences range from classic Heavy metal (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest), the progressive metal (Fates Warning, Queensryche), the power (Crimson Glory, Nevermore) to the modern symphonic ambient sound (Kamelot , Nightwish). There is a variety of influences and we think everyone could recognise it within our sound... but always in the light of our style.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr: This style of metal with atmospheric and progressive implications, characterizes you stricly or you could move into other styles as well?
\r\nThe Silent Wedding: Definitely our style has not strict limits due to our influences and particular chemistry of the members. However, the description as atmospheric metal with proggressive projection is the most precise! We don’t know whether or when we would be more flexible as for the style. But it depends on the band’s natural evolution. However, we couldn’t ever get away from the metal sound.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr: Since the release of  the 1st demo in March 2008, what was the response? Did you receive the expected results in terms of support and / or possible future collaborations?
\r\nThe Silent Wedding: The response was very positive and this is a great surprise and joy for us. We still receive some several positive comments about the demo.  Any constructive review was very important to us. We had the chance to receive many great reviews by several magazines and fanzines and also participate last summer the Rock Hard magazine’s collection with a new composition, the "General Autopsy".
\r\nRegarding support in general, there are some friends and some romantics who are involved with the Greek metal scene.  Otherwise let’s be realistic ... we’re living in Greece! However, there is no chance to compose music which could be played by bouzouki! (laughs)
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr: When to expect your first complete album;
\r\nThe Silent Wedding: This is unknown because there’s another line up change (three of the band’s members have left) and we get reasonable time to reach the desired levels in order to record a complete album, and this is something we really want to do because there’s some new material we would like to present. But as to date all new composings have been presented only in our live shows.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr: Shall we see you on stage soon;
\r\nThe Silent Wedding: It depends, since we’re still searching for a drummer and there are recent members’ changes. However, there are some good news regarding the opportunities for live performances. Hopefully, we will be ready again in early 2010.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr: Is there anything else to say or reveal perhaps?
\r\nThe Silent Wedding: We thank all those who are  involved and really support the Greek scene, which is composed of significant bands. We urge people to support the live performances. Hopefully, someday the band members to stop outnumber their fans...
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr: Thank you very much and have a good time!
\r\nThe Silent Wedding: We thank you!
