Amon Amarth @ Principal - Thessaloniki
\r\nDo you want ant power? Do you want imposition? Do you \r\nwant to attend a show that just kicks ass? If yes, then you should be present to \r\nAmon Amarth’s in last Sunday to the Principal Club. But let’s take it from the \r\nbeginning.
\r\n
\r\nThe show started half an hour late, but worth every minute of \r\nit. The support band, Shock Absorber, came on stage. Their music is not Death \r\nmetal, or something similar, as someone would expect that such a kind of a band \r\nwould accompany Amarth. But no, we listened to a Southern Rock - Christian Rap \r\nband, as they claim to be in their myspace. For those who do not understand the \r\ngenre, take a look to "Stoner rock" and you are on the right path. They sang \r\neight songs from their new album and we really enjoyed it. The sound was clear, \r\nthe guitars full of distortion , the vocals really nice that fit perfectly to \r\nthe songs, while the solos of George (lead guitar) ware excellent. \r\nAfter a long but very detailed sound \r\nchech, Amarth appeared on stage, for the first in history in Salonika, with the \r\n"Twillight of the Thundergod". The intro sounds of the song is epic and Viking \r\nenough, slowly and steadily filled the room and led us like hypnotized closer to \r\nstage. What followed can not be described with text. Long range moshpits and \r\nextensive headbangings, while the band’s attitude pushed us to that direction. \r\nEspecially during "Asator" and "Death in Fire", there was a "panic mode". The \r\nsound was perfect, the performance of the Swedish in high levels, but Hegg’’s \r\nvoice sounded tired , particularly from the middle of the show and afterwards. \r\nBut it was ok, since the whole show was great and all of us had a great time. \r\n

\r\nAlso it was really nice that Hegg communicated with the crowd. He asked \r\nus to sing along even if we didn’t know the lyrics, but it didn’t matter since \r\nno one would understand it cause it’s death metal! He also raised the beer \r\nbottle or his horn many times, drank and told us thank you in Greek. At least \r\nten times he said thank you in Greek.

\r\nOf course we had the classic \r\nencore, which although was poor with two tracks only, but when they sang "The \r\nPursuit Of Vikings" as the last songs, for once more we had a "panic mode". At \r\nthe end of the concert, Hegg promised that they will return, and allo of them \r\nlifted their horns and drank.

\r\nAmon Amarth had on stage a proper \r\nprofessional conduct, and the showed us that they love their music and respect \r\nthe crowd. Well done and thank you were here.
