Satyricon @ Gagarin 205

For once more we’re standing outside Gagarin, which opens its doors this time to welcome one of the most important bands of the black metal scene. Of course I’m talking about Satyricon who were joined by Dark Vision and Ravencult. For more infromation...

\r\nThe club is full of people dressed in black where you can see the impatience drawn in their eyes. So the lights go down and Dark Vision jump on the stage. A nice live, nice performance( I can say they were in a good mood that day), but still something was missing... The sound that they were dealing with was not good at all but that didn’t seem to be the exact problem. Their tracks were not that groovy which had as a result not a good communication with the crowd. On the other hand though Dark Vision is for sure a band with potential. Besides, if it wasn’t that way, they wouldn’t share the same stage with Satyricon.

\r\nRavecult’s time has come, and the crowd is getting warmer and warmer. Athough they’re supposed to be an upcoming band and although they warmed us up quite good for the headliners of the show, I don’t believe they gave the best out of them. They were quite stable as far as it concerns their performance and with songs that were not that powerfull. At this point though, we should all give a big applause to the drummer of the band ’cause he really deserves it. He had to deal with technical problems during their performance. It’s not that easy during the blastbeat to see your drum set moving away from you..Yes it’s true.. The guy was struggling within seconds to pull back several parts of his drum set.. Even if we didn’t get that enthousiastic we watched for sure a well-bonded band perfrorm.

\r\nAfter almost a quarter of waiting, the stage belongs at last to Satyricon. The triumph base for the microphone has taken its place on the stage and the introduction of their music is filling the whole club. The band members are already on their places and suddenly Satyr appears joined by a pair of croocks sice he had an accident earlier that day.. He couldn’t almost walk but that didn’t bacome an obstacle in any way to give a great show for one more time. Great playlist,non-stop headbangin’, great communication with the crowd, mosh-pits and the crowd screaming every single word of their lyrics. I believe they’ve found a great show- receipe..

\r\nOf course they didn’t miss to play with us with the well-known trick of ’’we want more’’, since the band after almost one hour of performance, disappears from the stage without even saying ’’thank you or goodnight’’. Since we’ve seen that before though, they did come back of course to leave us with their best song ’’Mother North’’. That was the best moment of the night, and I believe that it will stay in our minds for a long time...
