SCAR OF THE SUN @ Texas Necropolis

\r\nWe’re standing outside Texas Necropolis for once more, waiting to see Anal Veritas, Celebrate, Karro and Scar of the Sun. We are waiting for almost an hour and finally the doors open and Anal Veritas jump on the stage. For further infromation..

\r\nWhen I heard that name, I was informed from some people around me, that the style of the band was something among stoner and Pantera. It sounded quite good but it had nothing to do with it.. Just stoner and quite tiring although it was clear that the band didn’t follow any techniques. They just felt what they were playing.

\r\nThe club is half-full and Celebrate’s time has come. For those that happens to be fans of Mastodon they shoudn’t miss that band! The band was in a great mood and gave us a great show. Maybe the best of the whole live. Well bonded-mucisians and well-studied techniques from which the band didn’t miss a tune. As we all know the stage of Texas Necropolis is not that large, but that didn’t seem to be a problem for the guys who managed to wake us up with their songs.

\r\nIt’s almost 11 o’ clock and it’s Karro’s turn. Female vocals and a style that reminded a lot of Lacuna Coil. On the other hand though it seemed that the band has worked a lot on its material. We shouldn’t forget that the band was formed back in 2002, under the name ’’Division by Zero’’. Experimental style, nice techniques and nice atmosphere. They can be considered as one of the bands that we don’t meet that often(in their style). Tracks like Far away and Growing older seemed to be the best part of their performance. They succeded to make us enjoy the time that they were given.

\r\nIt’s over 12 o’clock and the stage now belongs to the headliners of the show, Scar of the Sun. For those who haven’t heard of them before, the band seems to have its own sound with influences of progressive, doom, atmospheric, swedish and electro. For those who have seen them perform before, I believe that they will agree with me that this was the best show of the band up to now. Revived, with a new drummer and no sound problems this time, Terry (vocals) and Scar of the Sun made us feel every single lyric and tune of their songs. We watched a well-bonde band, with- difficult to be played live- tracks. The band didn’t miss a tune and their songs Gravity and Ode to Failure are those that the crowd seemed to like most. This time the band performed by heart and they were able to tranfer us this feeling..
