METAL NA LATA ONLINE FEST (7TH, 14TH AND 21ST AUGUST 2021)
The current reality with online events is no longer a secret to anyone. Numerous festivals, lives and shows without the presence of the public were held, sometimes even saturating viewers, in a year and a half of pandemic due to Covid19, as it was an excellent temporary solution for bands and entertainment professionals to stay relevant and active. Well, the brazilian website Metal Na Lata (www.metalnalata.com.br), which completed six years of existence at the end of July, decided to go even further by creating the METAL NA LATA ONLINE FEST during three consecutive Saturdays (August 7th, 14th and 21st, from 8PM GMT-3) including a lot of great Brazilian, Argentinian and Portuguese bands, and also supporting a noble and humanitarian cause.
52 bands and 100% unreleased,never before seen material, some of which will be releasing - exclusively – brand new official music videos, covers, live tracks and even debuting as bands, with an exclusive transmission via the Metal Na Lata Youtube channel (www. youtube.com/metalnalata). Virtually the entire world population has suffered and still suffers from the consequences of the coronavirus due to personal, financial and professional losses. And one of the cases that made Johnny Z, Editor-in-Chief of Metal Na Lata, sensitized was that of the young boy, Rafael Alves de Farias Filho, who needs special care, such as a hospital bed, bath and wheelchairs with spinal and neck support, a winch for movement and various home adaptations for wheelchair access.
14 year old, Rafael, has been fighting brain cancer since he was only 7. He went through 8 surgical procedures in total, during the first, he lost his vision. Last year, in September 2020, Rafael underwent another emergency procedure to remove the tumor, but began to suffer from seizures and started radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments. In early 2021, Rafael needed to place an internal valve in his head in order to control intracranial pressure, which has provoked problems twice, creating the need for more trips to and from the hospital. So, Rafael's parents created a crowndfunding campaign (vakinha) to be able to cover all the high expenses for the adaptations needed in their home, such as hospital beds, bath and wheel chairs with spine and neck support, winch for movement, etc. . These adaptations and new equipment are necessary due to the large number of surgical procedures that Rafael underwent, unfortunately leaving him totally limited in all movements.

In a conversation with musician Rodrigo Sanner, lead singer of the Brazilian Progressive Death/Thrash Metal band APOKRISIS, he told me about a publication that appeared on his instagram feed about a boy who needed help. the decision! If the Brazilian and world metal scene really asks for unity, let's show that in these times that we really are united and not only about the bla bla bla!
