Altar of Plagues - Mammal
\r\nJust have a listen to this album, dear dark goth fag and come talk to me about DARKNESS. I will though, do whatever I can in order to avoid using this boring, dull, overused D word as I try to describe this ebony souled beast but after the end of "All Life Converges to Some Center" only one thing remains: darkness. Cold darkness.
\r\n
\r\n To begin with, I would like to mention the album’s length combined with the number of songs: four tracks spread over almost 52 minutes of musiv that grabs you and tosses you to the wet floor, smelling dust and smoke. Escalating compositions with outbursts and ambient passages, meet the unreal vocals and spit void and tar on the sould of the unsuspected listener. The blury and the empty meet and become martyrs on the altar of Art. Undefined silhouettes reach out and bite you from every possible side and all you can do is wait for even more. Agony and the morbid are the basic ingridients of "Mammal". The murky cover contributes.

\r\n Just for the history, this is only the second full length release of Altar of Plagues, hailing from Ireland. The psychotic band has released three more beasts in the form of EP’s, just in case someone is interested..I can’t define the type of listener I’d recommend "Mammal" to. Perhaps someone with a strong stomach and a sick desire to explore unearthly territories of extreme music. I don’t know if this is supposed to be a masterpiece or something equally pompous but I do know it’s not ordinary music. I cannot compare to other artists or describe the "riffs" and such. Dare to sink into it and we shall discuss about it.\r\n
