DOOM VS - Dead Words Speak
Well, this is the second release of the one man project band, Doom VS, which is solo project of Draconian’s Johan Ericson. The “Dead Words Speak” then, sound not so similar to Draconian releases, but in the same time, does.
\r\nIf I could picture the sound of the album, having as example, some bands, I would surely say that this Swedish is very influenced by the Doom metal band Warning (U.K.), because of the way he uses the “clean” vocals and the extremely down tempo riffing. For those that are not so much into traditional doom metal, I d say that this release sounds like many funeral doom metal bands, like My Dying Bride, Evoken but with an epic feeling.
\r\nAlthough I’m not a big fan of Draconian ‘s music, I admit that this album will take place on my CD player tray many times in the future and probably because it doesn’t sounds like Draconian. To Sum up, the “Dead Words Speak” album, is a mixture of slow tempo riffing, with clean and brutal vocals and many, slow tempo melodies, that will appeal for sure, not only Draconian fans but also more traditional Doom Metal Fans.
