NORDOR - Honoris Causa / Τιμής Ένεκεν

Well, this is a typical example of a Greek band that despite all their efforts, they managed to release their first album, after 19 years of their foundation. So , Nordor despite the fact that they are a band since 1989, only this year managed to release their first album, better late, than never then.
\r\nSo, here we have a probably unique release, which deals lyrically with the “Ancient Ones” and with the well known occult book “Necronomicon”. Of course the originality has nothing to do with that, because there have been a bunch of bands that refer to this book through all these years i.e. Morbid Angel. The matter is that all of their lyrics are translated either to Greek or sung on the Ancient Sumerian language, something that gives the whole album a great occult feeling that along with their music that moves into the classic U.S. Death metal sound with some progressive elements, make the whole album to sound spine chilling and for sure out of this world. !!!
\r\nThe album, “Honore Causa / Τιμής Ένεκεν” I dare to say that is something really spine chilling for two reasons, first of all the whole occult atmosphere and the second one is the way that the band performs and composes their tracks. By the time that the no mercy – blast beats ends Nordor puts some great preludes, with narration of “Necronomicon” parts or just an atmospheric instrumental part, which brings the whole concept to life and shows the unique musical identity of the band. If we add to all these elements Nordor’s devotion to death metal all these years, (I remind you 19 years for the first album) at least this band needs to have the respect of all death metal and Greek fans and personally I recommend this album for sure, this is something unique by all means.
