The Wizar'd - Infernal Wizardry
The promising Doom metal masters, The Wizar’d just a few days ago released at last their debut album, entitled “Infernal Wizardy”, a release that only could cause smiles on the face of their fans of the Australian Doomsters
\r\nThe Wizar’d back in 2006 with their awesome E.P. “Follow The Wizar’d” showed us what they can really achieve, and one year later with their flawless 7’’ “Smouldering Sinners” blew our doomed brains of and left us trying to understand what hit us, so with this release, they assured us that we have to expect many things from these guys
\r\nTheir music is a mixture of traditional doom metal in the vain of Pentagram and Saint Vitus , down tempo of course and with some references to the N.W.O.B.H.M. musical movement. The Album features eight tracks full of the heavy Sabbathical riffs of Sir Nun Piss and the mesmerizing voice of Ol’ Rusty Vintage Wizard Master. The Rhythm section is solid and offers you a punch right in the stomach.
\r\nPersonally, one of the tracks I really like on this album is “Crush The Gothic Slime” especially due too the lyrics. The track appeared on a live version on the E.P. “Sebado Negro” that has been released sometime prior the album. But trying to pick a favorite track from this album is not such a wise move, because I do believe that releases like these can only be listened from the first to the last riff.
\r\nTo sum up, all of you doom metal maniacs, down tempo lovers and doomed souls just pick that album, you won’t regret it. As for all of you that you keep on saying that this kind of music is slow, boring, dull and meaningless … don’t buy it. (I believe that even the guys from the band, agree with me)
