\r\n I suppose even from the name of this band, if you don’t already them, you understand the kind of metal that we are dealing here with. Blood, rape and sexual perversion what else could you remind you of than the beloved and always likeable Cannibal Corpse (of course generally speaking)!!! So, Brutal death metal it is, with gore lyrics and one more release from Neurotic Records.
\r\n To mention some info about the band Prostitute Disfigurement Started as a 3 piece band near the end of 2000 under the name Disfigure but changed name to Prostitute Disfigurement before releasing the album "Embalmed Madness". Both "Disfigure" demo and the "Embalmed Madness" album were recorded with a drum computer. But due to their increased amount of live gigs the band decided the addition also of a permanent drummer in their ranks. "Descendants Of Depravity" is their fourth studio album and it was recorded in the Stage One Studio with producer Andy Classen.
\r\n As far as the album itself, "Descendants Of Depravity" steps strongly in both modern death metal fields as well as in old school patterns and having reduced the grindcore attitude of the early albums. Τhrashy riffs but also guitar melodies, complex structures, and varied tempos, Prostitute Disfigurement unite the relentless blasting with more catchy, more melodic parts alternating within the compositions the rapid blastbeats with midtempo moments and musical acrobatics upon plenty of technical solos. The guitars are heavy and brutal creating a thick, solid sound and a killer riffage while the drums echo threatening and build with much convince a disordered, hostile atmosphere with constant blasts and beautiful drum fills.
\r\n As for the vocals, growling yet understandable enough they maintain in pure death metal forms and even though the grind element of the past is now almost abandoned, however they remain pityless and destructive behind the mic covering a much further range.
\r\n Overall this album if full of memorable riffs that stuck in your mind, great grοovy passages, ideal for a pleasurable headbanging and catchy choruses as well as a menacing rhythm, a rotten sound and a sheer brutality which penetrates the whole album leaving no doubt about the sinister dispositions and the vicious intentions of the band. Finally, if some of you wonder, what about the originality of this album, well, some things are still great even if they are second hand! Unconditionally recommended! \r\n
