Corpus Mortale - A New Species of Deviant
\r\n Corpus Mortale is a band from Denmark and "A New Species Of Deviant" is their third studio album although they exist in the scene for fifteen years now featuring former members of Denmark’s Iniquity.
\r\n Corpus Mortale plays heavy midpaced death metal, with a bludgeoning, relentless sound that is more into the old school U.S. style death metal than their Scandinavian melodic hybrid with old school references from bands like Morbid Angel, Deicide, Obituary and Bolt Thrower. With a grinding bass crushing everything under endless waves of low-end, drums with a nice, crispy sound and a rhythm-section set in granite mid-tempos, a chugging, sick death metal riffage and beautiful, neck-snapping breakdowns over a constant mid-tempo double bass and growling vocals the music comes out brutal as well as technical and heavy as hell.
\r\n The production on the album grants each instrument its clear audible portion but without lessening the filthy and wicked feeling of the album. Overall "A New Species Of Deviant" is a very decent death metal record, more than capable to fulfill your aggressive needs to a multiple death metal orgasm. Fans of the old school American death metal will appreciate this band greatly. \r\n
