Amon Amarth - Twilight Of The Thunder God
\r\nTwilight Of The Thunder God is the title of the long awaited album of the super power from Sweded called Amon Amarth. I’ll try and make this brief as talk is cheap and cheap has nothing to do with a band such as Amon Amarth. I follow Amon Amarth for many years and it’s obvious that with each release they progressed a step more. As a result they gain more and more fans and they became more and more famous. In many countries their sales have boomed sky high and the only thing we can say about this is congratulations to the band which made all this happen with hard work and extensive touring all over the world.

\r\nTwilight Of The Thunder God is one more diamond in the discography of the Swedes taking them even higher. All the elements that define Amon Amarth and distinguish them from other bands are here plus a few new elements, like some electro elements in one song and some violins. Other than that what we listen to is 10 tracks of typical Amon Amarth riffs and the amazing outbursts which remind us Versus The World, or Fate Of Norns or With Oden On Our Side. Melodies, feeling, power, melancholy, despair, turbulence twinkled in one unique entity pleasing our ears completely. Once more short/ melodic riffs have the leading part, the unique vocals of Johan Hegg give a special tone to each song, catchy guitar parts sounding familiar give us the shivers throughout the album. Some tracks are meant to be played live and I am extremely curious how they would be.

\r\nIt’s tough picking one song you prefer most since most of them have the same structure yet something different to offer. My only objection is the song Where Is Your God? This in my opinion is far off the bands style and apart from 3 minutes of kaffirness it has nothing to offer.

\r\nI feel I needn’t say more about this album since those interested have already listened to it and know what to expect of them. For the rest, checking out Twilight Of The Thunder God would be a good point. Fortunately some things in life never abandon you and one of them is Amon Amarth...
