The following release after “Lifestream Corrosion” for the Finnish black metal outfit Gloria Morti is at last a fact. The album comes under the title “Eryx” and is only the second full length release of the band, despite the fact that its existence begins back to 1999.
\r\nDuring the hearing of “Eryx” two bands popped in my mind, Behemoth and Emperor. After all this is how can I define Gloria Morti’s music, as a mixture of the previously guoted bands. The most parts on the album sounds like the hybrid Black / Death metal of Behemoth while in other parts there is a strong presence of the “Majestic” keyboard – playing of Emperor, as well as some “frozen” chords when the Norwegian used to use in their first three albums.
\r\nThe albums features eleven tracks, and through it duration we enjoy misanthropic feelings, double bass, blast beats and many sharp edged (due too production) riffing.
\r\nThe vocals sounds just great, brutal vocals with classic black metal vocals create a great atmosphere of hate and “Frost”.
\r\nMy humble opinion is that “Eryx” is a Worth the waiting – album.
