ELECTRIC WIZARD / REVEREND BIZARRE - Split 12''
Through these last couple of months the Finnish Doom Metal outfit Reverend Bizarre despite their break up, they meet once again in the studio to record some new material and cover songs, for a “packet” of new releases, one of these releases is this split 12’’ along with the best doom / stoner outfit of our time, the British Electric Wizard.
\r\nSo Mr Dorrian and his label, Rise Above Records, just before a couple of days has released this split 12’’ featuring each band with one track. Two versions of this 12’’ exist, the regular and the die hard copy with a huge poster of the cover. The regular edition comes in three different colour waxes.
\r\nOn This release , Electric Wizard can be heard on their new track “The House On the Borderland” that moves in their musical style of their latest release, “Witchcult Today”, down tempo, stoner/doom, with a great touch of 70’s psychedelic sounds.
\r\nThe Finnish on the other side of the wax performing a great cover of Beherit “Gates Of Nana” , a great track for Reverend Bizarre to cover due to mid tempo bits.
\r\nAs I previously stated Reverend Bizarre have some other releases out already in this period of two months. So we have a split CD with Kuolema (finnish hardcore band) that on this release Reverend Bizarre perform another cover song of Simo Salminen, “Rotestilaulu”. On this Split CD you can also find videos of live appearances by both bands. The Cd has been released on July through MCR records in limited quantities of 500 copies.
\r\nAnother Split vinyl release also for the Reverend with another finnish pop band this time, Rättö ja Lehtisalo where RB performs their track “From The Void II” released on july buy the finnish label Ektro Records.
\r\nAnd at last but not least, a new 7’’ vinyl is out by primitive records, (finnish label) with two covers that the The Reverend performs. “Dark World” by Doom fathers Saint Vitus and “Deceiver” by the metal gods, Judas Priest.
\r\nLet the search begin….
