Pharaoh - Be Gone

\r\nTim Aymar in my opinion is one of the most interesting voices that appeared in the scene during the last years. He became widely known when he did the vocals for Control Denied, and even though a collaboration between Chuck and Warrel will remain as an unfulfilled desire, I think that Aymar did a really great job.
\r\nThe album “Be Gone” belongs to the ones that most probably may not have a big impact on you from the first hearing, based on my point of view the least. It takes time, and I think it worth giving it. Blind Guardian is one of the most obvious influences of the band, as both musically and vocals-wise they pretty much follow their style. I underline the term “pretty much”, though, as this band, no doubt, has a lot to give further than that. They combine the epic feeling of the “traditional” metal scene with “modern” power metal, yet with more elements from the second one. So, we have a result which can satisfy both old school Metalheads and newer generations of fans as well. And let’s not misinterpretate the reference to the old school metal stuff. This is not a case of production quality that you can hardly bear, nor about songs based on 4-5 riffs. Aymar vocals are very powerful, there is melody and the tracks are very groovy, while speeding fast, yet not fast enough to make your ears suffer from it, they are “catchy” other times, and other times more “raw”, without complicated compositions and extreme mixtures of elements…in a few words, a very good “fresh” power metal album. \r\n
