Ebonmortis - Reconstruction by Force
\r\nAt first when I started to listen to this particular release I want to say that I was actually in a really pissed off mood but a dose of good extreme metal is always a fine and welcomed companion at times like this and at least for me has proved in the past a huge relaxation. The problem is that after a while I started to have this even more annoying feeling all coming from the music I was listening to. And the annoyance kept growing until the extreme combo of vocals, guitars and drums (don’t ask me about the bass, didn’t catch any of that) that was scratching my ears became the main source of my frustration! I even had the urgent need of pushing the stop button or else in a very short time I would be drop dead out of irresistible boredom! But finally good for me I did survive even listening to all nine tracks that consists this album. \r\n

\r\nWell, Ebonmortis are specialized in furious, angered death metal and in fact furious, angered death metal IS one of my things! So what was the problem here? Simply I guess even this kind of nonintellectual music needs a certain talent and inspiration and functional riffs so that it will slap you in the face and grab you by the hair and drive your neck to the verge of snapping and then of course the rest is history. And I also guess that even if I grab a guitar and start riffing all over and then a friend of mine grabs a pair of sticks and starts relentlessly pounding on a poor drum kit and then a third one grabs a mic and starts screaming and growling (forget about the bass player in this case) well, that doesn’t mean that our sonic result will take all the death/extreme metal’s lovers by force. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nTo cut a long story short this release is totally useless, uninspired, irritating with no meaning at all, no coherence, no musical pattern, lacking of any good or even interesting ideas. It is just about juiceless brutality, ripping off (they must really like The Black Dahlia Murder), all of the songs follow almost the same formula as one another and nothing else at least not worth mentioning. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nAlthough if you are curious enough about this band and their latest achievement there are some songs for you to hear in their Myspace Page. \r\n
