Degradead - Til Death Do Us Apart

This band comes from Gothenburg, Sweden which isn’t hard to believe since the music they play clearly comes from the particular scene. Til Death Do Us Part is their debut album which accordingly to Jesper Stromblad of ’’In Fames’’, is the future of Metal. A statement like that isn’t at all shocking if we think about the fact that the mixing and recording of the album was his doing. Things are clear. My personal opinion is that Degradead are not the future of Metal, but are another typical band which ’’recycles’’ things we’ve heard so many times from others. Melodic Death Metal but with many influences from ’’In Flames’’, it’s just that here things are a little more extreme since the speed is higher and the vocals are almost always brutal except for a few clean vocals on the refrains. From there on, there are some well done melodies but they aren’t that special or impressive. The production is good and to be honest, I believe that if the band works on it a little harder, there’s a good chance their next release will be a bit better. For now, what we have here is merely re-warmed up food.
