The Arcane Order - In The Wake Of Collisions
\r\nThe Arcane Order come from Denmark and this is\r\ntheir second album in which apparently they emphasize in experimentation than\r\nin regular composition of tracks. "In The Wake Of Collision" is pretty hard\r\nwhen it comes to hearing and this can be explained by the fact that it combines\r\nmany different elements and brings them all together, thing that sometimes can\r\ncreate a very chaotic and "stressful" atmosphere.\r\nThe members come from bands like Raunchy, Scavenger, Autumn Leaves, Koldborn, Submission,\r\nNightrage etc. so it is logical for the result to be complex and original since\r\neach member has contributed and put some of their own personality and\r\ninfluences in this album.\r\n
\r\n
\r\nIt is hard though to characterize the music of\r\nthe band. Like the band says, it is closer to Thrash Metal and we don’t have\r\nany objection. We will simply add that throughout this chaos they offer us\r\nthere are plenty of experimental elements thing that makes the album\r\nindifferent to all those who like old school Thrash Metal since influences from\r\nSlayer, Sodom, Destruction etc. do not exist in this album. I will be honest\r\nand say that this particular album, after some point tired me. All tracks have long\r\nlength with many alternations within, thing that makes the hearing even more\r\nharder. Another thing that I didn’t like is that in all this chaos there is\r\nnothing special or even something that can draw our attention. Everything is\r\nflat and during the 48 minutes that the album lasts all that we hear is many\r\nriffs which are accompanied by furious drumming and some keyboards which create\r\nsome atmosphere or some background. So we have an unreasonable burst that tries\r\nto resemble as extreme but the truth is that it is tiring. It is really very\r\ndifficult to try to listen to 9 songs that do not have anything but many\r\nindividual riffs and a chaotic atmosphere thing that is original but on the\r\nother hand I cannot understand to whom it refers to. The vocal part is like Raunchy\r\nand generally the result and the approach of the songs reminds us this band but\r\nin a more extreme way. The production is by Jacob Hansen (who seems to have\r\nundertaken a big part of the scene of Denmark) at Hansen Studios, but\r\nunfortunately this fact by itself does not mean something.\r\n
\r\n
\r\nPerhaps it is the first time that a band from\r\nDenmark leaves me indifferent. Unfortunately I cannot change my mind since if\r\nsomething that has tired me I can’t deal with it for a period of time. The\r\nalbum will be released on 14th of January and personally I would\r\npropose you to throw a glance, only in order to give it a chance. Perhaps you will\r\nfind something that you would like but don’t wait for something unique.\r\n
