MYSTIC PROPHECY - Satanic Curses

\r\nThe previous album of Mystic Prophecy "Savage\r\nSouls" left me speechless. Since then I’ve been waiting anxiously the new\r\nrelease of the band. Finally the time has come and "Satanic Curses" is now a\r\nfact. For those who may not know, Mystic Prophecy is a German band whose singer\r\nis from Greece and his name is R.D. Liapakis. Until now the band has released 5\r\nfull length albums including "Satanic Curses". All those who follow Mystic\r\nProphecy from the beginning of their career and all those who know them from\r\ntheir previous album certainly know what they will hear. For all those who don’t\r\nknow let’s make a description.\r\n

\r\nWhat we hear in "Satanic Curses" is well played\r\nHeavy/Power Metal with a more Swedish attitude. Another fact is that responsible\r\nfor the mix of the album is Fredrik Nordstrom at Fredman Studios with all that\r\ncan entail. There are also some elements in the vein of Nightrage especially when\r\nit comes to solos or rhythm parts. The album in general hides plenty of Swedish\r\ninfluences which are nicely combined so that the balances are preserved in all\r\ntracks. The tunes and the "catchy" rhythm parts are those who make Mystic\r\nProphecy so popular since it’s obvious that they are a band with talent and not\r\nanother copy of some bigger band. The band in the passing of time managed to\r\ncreate its own personal character, thing that’s extremely obvious in this\r\nalbum. Even from the first hearing some tracks are hard to forget like for\r\nexample Sacrifice Me, Dark Forces, Demons Blood, Damnation etc. Besides that,\r\nthe rest of the songs are in the same level with the energy and the power to be\r\ntransmitted freely. One of the most positive things in this band is the\r\nspectacular voice of R.D. Liapakis which adds a unique character to the band\r\nand makes the result even more interesting. We should emphasize upon the fact\r\nthat the songs are elevated by the vocals and due to that fact the result has a\r\nhigher quality. We should mention that the 11th track of this album which is titled\r\nParanoid, is the extremely popular song of Black Sabbath and is a very notable\r\ncover done with high respect for this mighty band, but personally I believe\r\nthat we have heard many versions of this particular song so we are not dealing\r\nwith something new.\r\n

\r\nMystic Prophecy is a band with character, and\r\nit is an honor for us that its frontman and one of the most basic members is\r\nfrom Greece. "Satanic Curses" is an album which combines melody with energy in\r\nsuch a way that in a live show any of the tracks within the album will rock!\r\nThe album is worth buying and as a bonus you can download from the official site\r\nof the band a live album. The packaging already contains a CD on which you can\r\nwrite this live.\r\n
