CRIMSON TEARS - The Dark Awakening
\r\nThere are some people whose visions, aspirations, the need for creation and love for music drive them as a locomotive force in\r\norder to achieve their goals. In my opinion this is the sort of person the founder and guitarist of Crimson\r\nTears, Dave Miller is. The obstacles he had to face were\r\nmany within which the fact they’re unsigned, however not strong enough to hold\r\nthem back. So the British Crimson Tears managed to overcome the difficulties and release their first album called The Dark Awakening..\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe album is consisted out of 10 tracks well established one by one. All of them are in the genre of heavy/power, with several gothic elements strong enough to create intense emotions to the listener… However, it’s not only the gothic elements that draw you attention but\r\nalso the fine combination of opera elements, and symphonic sound which gives a\r\nwhole different view to the result. Even though some of the songs are long in duration the alternations within them make their effect totally interesting. Gina Oldham’s\r\nvocal gives an extra tone of interest to the tracks, and the production is very\r\nwell worked. Nightwish may easily come to mind while listening to this release,\r\nbut for sure it’s not a cheap imitation. My personal favorites were “Angel for\r\nMy Sin”, “Enemy Of My Enemy”, “Emotion Denied” but also the acoustic track of “Aurora”.
