The Cult - Born Into This
\r\nAt last! After 6 years, the new album by The Cult. I Think that there’s no need of introduction for the mid 80’s super group .The Cult is A Band that have been through many styles of music, seasons change, so The Cult do. So I’m going to put the CD into the CD player tray and here we go…
\r\n
\r\nBorn Into This : From the first notes someone realizes that the strong point of this production is the Rhythm section . This track grooves and reminds of other eras of the band. Ian’s Voice remains monumental and Bill keeps on riffing in the background (that’s because the rhythm section is more “up” in the mix). Very Nice melodic chorus and generally nice, powerful, groovy track
\r\nCitizens: A Very nice song also , that reminds of “Sonic Temple” era, but sounds a little bit flat, very nice groovy track and nice chorus.
\r\nDiamonds: A track that fits in the previous two.
\r\nDirty Little Rock star: yeap… this is it guys!!! AC/DC rhythm section (at last). Ian orders just before chorus “Come On” and this is it, I can clearly hear a classic The Cult chorus that I haven’t heard since “Electric”. Bill spreads some AC/ DC alike guitar riffs one spectacular solo (but due too production, in the background). I had a great need of such a track.
\r\nHoly Mountain: Nice ballad reminds of Johny Cash and Glen Dazing… let’s go to the next one
\r\nI Assassin: Up-tempo track, Ian spits the lyrics, a very nice melodic chorus and riffs inspired by AC / DC and Stone temple Pilots. At Last one very nice solo from Duffy that can be heard!
\r\nIlluminated: haha, another track taken straight from the “Electric” era, Duffy spreads chords and solos
\r\nTiger in the Sun: Even from the first notes, someone realizes that there is something special in the track. Alittle bit “darker” sound that reminds of the “Love” era. Ian’s Vocals are the best in the whole album and reminds me the reason I love this band. In some points reminds of the “Death Cult” era
\r\nSavages: Like the previous track, darker and with a riff that “flirts” with the “Horse Nation” riff. Outstanding
\r\nSound of Destruction: The last track of the album. Leaded by the heavy bass sound. The song grooves and Duffy’s solos still the Show!
\r\n
\r\nSo, except the production (that “buries” the guitars) the “Born Into This” Album can easily stands next to the 80’s – 90’s Album of the Band. The Cult is alive (nothing to do with darkthrone’s album) and they did the thing that the really know for sure Groovy Hard Rock!!! (Feel free to share your opinion about the Album with us… I feel that I’m the only one that likes that album)\r\n
